This process enhances its fruitiness, adds layers of spice, and softens its natural freshness. The wine has a deep ruby-purple color. The nose reveals aromas of ripe blackberries, black cherries, plums, black pepper, and subtle hints of cocoa, vanilla, and smoke. On the palate, it is dry and full-bodied, with pronounced but smooth tannins, distinctive freshness, and a long, velvety finish.
